A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
The national curriculum for physical education aims to ensure that all pupils:
Develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities are physically active for sustained periods of time engage in competitive sports and activities lead healthy, active lives.
Year 5 Water Sports at Crosby Lakeside
All children in Year 5 gained experience in different water based activities. They took part in kayaking, sailing and bell-boating. Within these activities they learnt an array of skills from paddling and rowing to hoisting a sail.
Jamie Carragher Grassroots Football Session
A selection of children from various year groups were lucky to have the opportunity to take part in a football session with the Liverpool legend and local hero Jamie Carragher in the Brunswick Community Centre.
Year 4 Football Tournament
The Year 4 football team participated in a South Sefton tournament at GOALS soccer centre.
Year 5 Friendly Fixtures Vs. Thomas Gray
Two Year 5 football teams played a friendly fixture against another local school. With both All Saints teams finishing victorious.
Year 2 pupils competed in the South Sefton Indoor Athletics competition at The Hawthorne’s High School. The team of girls and boys took part in running events as well as field events such as; speed bounce, soft javelin, chest throw and high jump.
Multi-Skills Grand National Festival
A group of students had the opportunity to take part in a multi-skills event themed around the Grand National Steeplechase. They were also lucky enough to have an exclusive preview of the 2019 trophy and had the chance to meet Olympic gold medallist Samantha Quek.
After school Netball club runs all year round for year 6 and is taken by Mrs. Glynne-Jones an experienced Netball player. The pupils who attend the club take part in competitive fixtures against other schools.
LEAP Dance Competition 2019
The LEAP dance competition was hosted here at All Saints. The event consisted of children from different schools performing their own choreographed dances to a judging panel of professional dancers and choreographers.
Year 5 Fay Cup Vs. St Benedicts
The Year 5 football team defeated St. Benedicts in the 1st round Fay Cup fixture. After coming from behind the All Saints team went on to win on penalties.
Year 5/6 FootGolf Competition
A group of year 5/6 pupils participated in the South Sefton FootGolf competition. FootGolf is a fun mix of Football and Golf with you trying to kick Footballs along a Golf course in as little strikes as possible.
